We are Sound Decisions Band! Located in Louisville, KY, we play rock, soul, funk and dance music. Our journey started with a passion for live performances and a commitment to delivering unforgettable experiences at every event.
The youngest of the group, Everett is also the least experienced member of the band. Having grown up playing trumpet and french horn from elementary through high school, it wasn't until later in life that he finally discovered his singing voice. Some encouraging words from a great friend at a simple karaoke night, set him on his path to joining a cover band. After several tryouts and a few rejections, he met Tim and Dwayne and together along with Max, Sound Decisions was formed. He is now writing his next chapter in music right alongside them.
When he's not on stage pushing the boundaries of the definition for "dance moves", you'll find him playing disc golf, hiking and throwing irrational temper tantrums over the Buffalo Bills. While Everett can cover just about anything, if he gets control of the music on the road trip, he's going to make you listen to Marcus King, Dru Hill, Maroon 5, Keith Urban, Whitney Houston, Blind Melon, Fall Out Boy, and Celine Dion before you stop for gas again.
Dwayne started playing guitar at age 13. His strongest influence was his father who was a country singer/guitar player. Dwayne started playing in local clubs at age 18 with bands such as, Caboose, Dead Ringer and The Lone Wolf Band. He also toured for two years with Rockin' Horse. Along with some great friends, he formed the band Rare Breed and played with them for over 30 years.
Dwayne loves Gibson Les Paul guitars and purchased his first one in 1978. He has been playing them ever since. He has played many types of music throughout his career, including country, rock, blues, top 40, soul and funk. He enjoys them all.
When Dwayne is not playing music, he spends his time enjoying his Hot Rods and Harleys.
Tim "Too Sweet" Poteet is a talented bassist that studied with Keith Walker in his early years. Tim has been playing bass and singing in Louisville and Southern Indiana for many years and even spent some time playing in South Florida. Tim has played with some great local bands including Rockin' Lobsters, Leo Night and the Moonlighters, Katz and Jammers, Johnny Too Bad, Street Heat and more.
Tim loves his Music Man's, Fenders, and Yamaha basses but has recently been giving a lot of love to his Sadowski.
Max started playing the drums around age 14. His older cousin, who was a professional musician, gave him a pair of drum sticks and a practice pad for his birthday. Throughout high school he played in a garage band called Dark Star. In his roaring 20's he spent a lot of time in the local clubs watching some of Louisville's most talented bands, even jumping on stage playing a few songs with the popular band Fire Dept. from time to time. Max then took time away from music to focus on his career in the electronic security world and start a family. Jump to 2020 where he found himself at a local pub on an Open Mic Night. The host band liked what they heard and Max soon became their drummer. He played with The Rhythm Cats for over a year. Soon after, he played with Trouble Wide and Big Cat and The Prowlers. That's when Max met Tim. Together with Dwayne and Everett, Sound Decisions was born.
Bill’s music foray started in New Jersey where he studied and performed with various woodwinds in the New Jersey Junior Symphony, New Jersey Wind Ensemble, and New Jersey Regional Concert Band. Additionally he performed with 6 and 7 piece R&B and rock bands at night clubs and colleges in New York and New Jersey. Subsequently he stepped away from music for 30 years until moving to Louisville where the music bug bit him once again. This time, he decided to do something different and tackle keyboards. He formed the bands Replay and the Buzz and has been playing in local venues for several years. He can be seen sitting in with local blues bands from time to time.
